Nightlife in Branson, Missouri

Though Branson has gained notoriety as a family-friendly vacation venue, many singles and couples without children head to this destination each year as well, prompting the need for venues that offer after-dinner music and fun. Nighttime entertainment is alive and well in Branson and in areas just outside the city, so it’s never hard to find a club, bar, or other place to spend the evening enjoying a drink or tapping your feet and dancing to the latest hits of a variety of genres.

Offerings range from restaurants with impressive lounges that boast live music to small pubs and bars to state-of-the-art nightclubs with techno lighting, pumping music, and large dance floors. Each appeals to a different kind of patron, from professional 20-somethings to the seniors who so often visit the Branson area.

Nightlife in Branson happens all year long, but during peak tourist season – from about April through December – most clubs and other similar establishments stay open longer and offer more options for entertainment. Here are a few samplings of what’s available on Branson’s nightlife scene.

?    Tabu Nightclub – One of Branson’s newer nightlife venues, Tabu is modern to its core. It includes a 1,900 square foot dance floor, two full-service bars, an impressive light and sound system, and plenty of spaces for intimate conversation as well. Live music is found here often and there’s also a sports bar attached to Tabu, called the Triple Play, which features 16 flat screen TVs that cover all the games.

?    White River Comedy Club – This 178-seat comedy venue floats on the waters of Lake Taneycomo and features both regionally- and nationally-known comics, many of whom have appeared on television. Shows are on Thursday through Sunday and reservations are suggested.

?    Outback Pub – Situated on The Strip, this pub is a terrific live music venue and offers a variety of bands that play many different styles. Live music is available each night, with few exceptions. There’s an outdoor beer garden during the summer months and a cozy inside area for wintertime fun. The food is good as well, the Happy Hour prices are reasonable, and more than 100 varieties of beer are available at Outback.

?    Ernie Bigg’s Piano Bar – Ideal for the more sophisticated and slightly older nightlife seeker, this bar/eatery features dueling pianos, a menu full of tasty food and alcoholic beverages, and a chance to sing along if you dare!

?    Club 57 – Located in the same building as Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater, Club 57 is intimate and classy. The dance floor is small but close to the band and the bar serves a huge variety of martinis, many different beers, and some tasty noshes to go along with them.

?    Bleu Olive Mediterranean Grill and Bar – Perfect for the blues and jazz fan, this upscale establishment offers fine Mediterranean cuisine and live music on Fridays and Saturdays from dinner time until about 1 a.m. Situated in the historic downtown area, it tends to attract a more sophisticated crowd of older patrons.
