Emory Creek Victorian Bed and Breakfast in Branson, Missouri
Voted the “Most Elegant” B&B in America by Inn Traveler Magazine, the Emory Creek Victorian Bed and Breakfast in Branson is a step back into the past. Decorated with genuine Victorian era antique furniture and some reproduction period items, this B&B exudes romance and is a favorite choice for those enjoying a honeymoon or just looking for a romantic weekend getaway.
But the establishment is far from stuffy. Guests are awakened to the strains of an 1800s Chickering piano and the scents of a country kitchen, and the staff does everything possible to promote a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the inn.
The guest rooms at Emory Creek Victorian Bed and Breakfast are indeed elegant. There are a total of 6 rooms from which guests can choose, and one of them, situated on the ground level, is pet-friendly. The other rooms are on the open balcony level overlooking the ornate Victorian parlor. Each of the second floor rooms is named after a famous Missourian – Laura Ingalls Wilder (author), Sammy Lane (heroine of “Shepherd of the Hills), Rose O’Neil (creator of the Kewpie Doll), Payne Stewart (golfer), and former President Harry S. Truman – and was decorated with those individuals in mind.
The Sammy Lane Suite is considered the bridal suite and contains a queen-sized 4-poster bed, fireplace, 2-person Jacuzzi, double sinks with gold faucets, a separate shower, and lots of lace and roses. The Junior Bridal Suite, named for Rose O’Neil, has a white metal 4-poster bed draped in lace, an extra daybed, fireplace, and double-size Jacuzzi. The stately Truman Suite is more masculine in character, with dark woods and elegant period furnishings, a 2-person Jacuzzi, and ornate fireplace. Guests who stay in Laura’s Room will enjoy a queen bed, dressing table, and double Jacuzzi. This room exudes warmth and charm and plenty of Ingalls’ books are provided for reading enjoyment. Finally, the Stewart Suite includes a queen-sized iron bed and lots of golf memorabilia. There’s an oversized Jacuzzi and French doors leading to a sunny balcony. In each suite, guests will find plush bathrobes, clock radios, and a television with VCR. In the morning, visitors to Emory Creek will partake of a gourmet 4-course breakfast either in the dining room or outside on the lovely veranda in season.
Also on site, the owners have created the Mark Twain Library, filled with myriad books, magazines, and board games. A chess set remains set up in the library for those who wish to play. In addition, a wide selection of new and classic movies is available for viewing on the VCRs in each suite. Guests may order pizza, sodas, and ice cream to enjoy during their movie.
Outside, a gazebo provides a private place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The outdoor area at Emory Creek Victorian Bed and Breakfast is also a popular site for weddings as is the elegant interior of the B&B. The owners assist in making all the necessary arrangements including obtaining the officiant and musicians, securing the wedding cake, and arranging the menu and other details of the reception. Weddings here are intimate as the establishment can only accommodate about 20 guests.
The inn recently added a Victorian Gift Shop, where guests can shop for items similar to those they see in the rooms at Emory Creek. Items available at the gift shop range from apparel and jewelry to things like note cards and decorative accessories.
