Showboat Branson Belle in Branson, Missouri

Modeled after the showboats of the 19th century that once traveled the rivers of America bringing entertainment to the people of the Midwest, the Showboat Branson Belle is the largest ship ever built on a landlocked lake. Constructed at Branson’s White River Landing and launched on Table Rock Lake in 1994, the boat is 278 feet long and 78 feet wide and can accommodate 700 passengers at a time. The boat is owned and operated by the same company that operates Silver Dollar City theme park.

Each cruise that takes place aboard the Showboat Branson Belle is 2 hours long and includes a 3-course meal served by an attentive wait staff while passengers enjoy the views along the river. Menus vary according to time of day. For example, a noontime cruise includes lunch which features a chicken or beef entrée (vegetarian entrée available upon request) with vegetables, a garden salad, bread, tea or coffee, and the Showboat’s signature lemon raspberry torte for dessert. Dinner menus for ships sailing between 4 and 8 pm are similar but might include a more upscale entrée. For those who decide to purchase a spot in the Paddle Wheel Club Room, a private dining area with large windows for great views, the meal is a bit more elaborate. A children’s menu featuring chicken strips and macaroni and cheese is also available for passengers ages 4 to 11.

Entertainment is a large part of the Showboat Branson Belle experience. The Showstoppers Singers, a quartet of talented vocalists, wow the crowds with a wide variety of music for passengers aboard the ship. Selections include everything from Broadway selections to contemporary hits. Also featured on select cruises is comedian and ventriloquist Todd Oliver, who performs with a cast of unusual characters. His appearances are especially popular with children. Cruises dubbed “World Class” include performances by a 6-piece band that showcases a variety of musical styles.

The Showboat Branson Belle operates from mid-March through the end of December. The attraction closes during the months of January and February and part of March. There are also closures during other times of the year, including during the week preceding Christmas. During peak tourist season, there are generally 2 or 3 cruises each day from which to choose. Sailings may occur at noon, 4 pm, and/or 8 pm.

The riverboat company often offers specials that include multiple tickets or events such as the ability to cruise free of charge on your birthday. Packages that include entrance or admission to other attractions owned by the same company, such as Silver Dollar City, can be purchased as well. Prices, in general, vary with the time of the show and the selected seating. Children ages 4 to 11 pay about half fare.

There are 3 decks on the ship but it is handicapped accessible as there is an elevator onboard. A table assignment is printed on each ticket and special seating for handicapped passengers may be requested at time of purchase. Ample parking, including handicapped parking, is available at White River Landing.
